( the \u201cCompany\u201d) provides services across a variety of media\u2014including print publications, the internet, mobile, events, and in\u2011person counter services\u2014to support people in many aspects of life. Because we handle the personal information of many customers and workers in the course of operating our business, we have established this policy based on our Code of Ethics, built a management system for personal information, and will act responsibly as a company.\n<\/p>\n

\nPolicy 1. We will specify the purposes for which personal information is used as precisely as possible and handle such information appropriately within the scope necessary to achieve those purposes. We will also take measures to prevent use beyond the stated purposes.\n<\/p>\n

\nPolicy 2. We will obtain personal information by lawful and fair means.\n<\/p>\n

\nPolicy 3. We will not provide personal information to third parties without the individual\u2019s consent.\n<\/p>\n

\nPolicy 4. We will endeavor to take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent and correct leakage, loss, or damage, and to otherwise ensure the safe management of personal information.\n<\/p>\n

\nPolicy 5. We will endeavor to enable the individual who provided personal information to be appropriately involved in its handling and will strive to keep such information as accurate and up\u2011to\u2011date as possible.\n<\/p>\n

Handling of Personal Information<\/h2>\n\n\n

\nMixtend Inc. (the \u201cCompany,\u201d \u201cwe,\u201d \u201cus,\u201d or \u201cour\u201d) posts this Privacy Policy to explain how we handle personal information in connection with the services we provide in accordance with this Privacy Policy (the \u201cServices\u201d). We respect the privacy of (i) companies, partners, and organizations that use the Services (collectively, \u201cCorporate Customers\u201d) and (ii) individuals who use the Services (the \u201cUsers\u201d), and we take the utmost care in managing Users\u2019 personal information, as defined below.\n<\/p>\n

Definition of \u201cPersonal Information\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n

\n\u201cPersonal Information\u201d means information about an individual User that can identify that User, such as name, address, telephone number, email address, school name, and other descriptions. Even if a single piece of information cannot identify a User by itself, information that can be easily collated with other information to ultimately identify a User also constitutes Personal Information.\n<\/p>\n

Use of Personal Information<\/h3>\n\n\n

\nWe use Personal Information only for the purposes set out below and will not use it beyond these purposes.\n<\/p>\n

\nA. To authenticate Users and provide Services to Users.\n<\/p>\n

\nB. To send communications related to the Services, including email newsletters, direct mail, and various notices.\n<\/p>\n

\nC. To provide Personal Information to Corporate Customers based on the User\u2019s consent or application.\n<\/p>\n

\nD. To deliver and display advertisements and content and to provide the Services based on attribute information, device information, location information, behavioral history, and similar data.\n<\/p>\n

\nE. To improve the Services, develop new services, and conduct marketing.\n<\/p>\n

\nF. To conduct campaigns, surveys, user panels\/monitors, and interviews.\n<\/p>\n

\nG. To deliver URL information to individuals who send a blank email to specified addresses.\n<\/p>\n

\nH. To confirm and respond to opinions, inquiries, and user\u2011posted reviews regarding the Services.\n<\/p>\n

\nI. To investigate activities prohibited by the Terms of Use\u2014such as applications for commercial or reuse purposes, multiple applications, transfer of rights, or registration of false information\u2014and to conduct detailed confirmations based on such investigations.\n<\/p>\n

Optional Nature of Providing Personal Information<\/h3>\n\n\n

\nIf you do not enter required items in the relevant parts of the Services, you may be unable to receive all or part of the Services.\n<\/p>\n

Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties<\/h3>\n\n\n

\nIn principle, we will not provide Personal Information to third parties without the User\u2019s prior consent. We will provide information only when the recipient and the content to be provided are specified and the User\u2019s consent has been obtained. However, we may provide Personal Information without the User\u2019s consent to the extent permitted by applicable laws and regulations in the following cases:\n<\/p>\n

\nA. When we determine that a User may cause disadvantage to a third party.\n<\/p>\n

\nB. When it is particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting child welfare and obtaining the User\u2019s consent is difficult.\n<\/p>\n

\nC. When there is a need to cooperate with national or local government agencies, or persons entrusted by them, in performing affairs prescribed by laws and regulations and obtaining the User\u2019s consent may impede the performance of those affairs.\n<\/p>\n

\nD. When a court, public prosecutor\u2019s office, police, or an agency with similar authority requests disclosure of Personal Information.\n<\/p>\n

\nE. When the User explicitly requests disclosure or provision to a third party.\n<\/p>\n

\nF. When disclosure or provision is permitted by laws and regulations.\n<\/p>\n

\nG. When Personal Information is provided in connection with a business succession due to merger or other reasons, and the information is handled within the scope of the purposes of use before the succession.\n<\/p>\n

Disclaimers Regarding Third\u2011Party Provision<\/h3>\n\n\n

\nWe assume no responsibility in the following cases where Personal Information is obtained by a third party:\n<\/p>\n

\nA. When a User discloses Personal Information to a Corporate Customer by using functions of the Services or by other means (please contact the relevant Corporate Customer directly regarding its handling of personal information).\n<\/p>\n

\nB. When a User can be identified unexpectedly based on information entered into the Services.\n<\/p>\n

\nC. When Personal Information is provided by a User and used on an external site linked from the Services.\n<\/p>\n

\nD. When someone other than the User obtains information that can identify the User (such as ID and password).\n<\/p>\n

Outsourcing of Processing<\/h3>\n\n\n

\nWe may outsource all or part of the handling of Personal Information to third\u2011party service providers. We remain responsible for the handling of Personal Information by such providers.\n<\/p>\n

Use of Statistical Data<\/h3>\n\n\n

\nWe may create statistical data processed so that individuals cannot be identified, based on Personal Information that we receive. We may use such de\u2011identified statistical data without restriction.\n<\/p>\n

Changes to personal information, etc.<\/h3>\n\n\n

\nIn principle, only the User themself may request (i) notification of the purposes of use of Personal Information, (ii) disclosure, correction, addition, or deletion of registered Personal Information, (iii) suspension of use, and (iv) suspension of provision to third parties (collectively, \u201cRequests for Changes, etc.\u201d). For details on how to make these requests, please contact the Personal Information Management contact point listed below. However, we may decline a request in the following cases:\n<\/p>\n

\nA. When there is a risk of harm to the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the User or a third party.\n<\/p>\n

\nB. When there is a risk of significant hindrance to the proper operation of the Services.\n<\/p>\n

\nC. When compliance would violate other laws or regulations.\n<\/p>\n

\nIf responding to a Request for Changes, etc. would require excessive cost or is otherwise difficult, and we take alternative measures necessary to protect the User\u2019s rights and interests, we may decline the request.\n<\/p>\n

Accuracy of Personal Information<\/h3>\n\n\n

\nWe will endeavor to process Personal Information accurately. However, Users are responsible for ensuring that the Personal Information they provide is accurate and up\u2011to\u2011date.\n<\/p>\n

Restrictions on Collecting Sensitive Personal Information<\/h3>\n\n\n

\nIn principle, we do not collect Personal Information that includes the following. (This does not apply where the User provides such information voluntarily.)\n<\/p>\n

\nA. Matters related to thoughts, beliefs, or religion.\n<\/p>\n

\nB. Matters that may give rise to social discrimination, such as race, ethnicity, lineage, place of origin (excluding the prefecture of residence), physical or mental disability, or criminal record.\n<\/p>\n

\nC. Matters related to workers\u2019 rights to organize, collective bargaining, or other collective actions.\n<\/p>\n

\nD. Participation in demonstrations, exercise of the right to petition, or other political rights.\n<\/p>\n

\nE. Health care and sexual life.\n<\/p>\n

Identity Verification<\/h3>\n\n\n

\nWhen responding to requests for disclosure, correction, deletion, or suspension of use of Personal Information, we will verify identity using information that can identify the individual (such as name, address, telephone number, date of birth, email address, member number, or password). However, if someone other than the individual obtains and uses such identifying information, we cannot be responsible for that use.\n<\/p>\n

Management of \u201cPersonal Data\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n

\nWith respect to \u201cPersonal Data\u201d (having the same meaning as in Article 2, Paragraph 6 of Japan\u2019s Act on the Protection of Personal Information), we will take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage and to otherwise ensure safe management of such data. When providing such data to employees or contractors (including subcontractors), we will supervise them as necessary and appropriate. Our principal safety management measures include:\n<\/p>\n

\nA. Formulation of Basic Policy\n<\/p>\n

\nWe have established a basic policy regarding compliance with relevant laws and guidelines and our contact point for questions and complaints.\n<\/p>\n

\nB. Development of Rules for Handling Personal Data\n<\/p>\n

\nWe have established basic handling methods for obtaining, using, and storing Personal Data.\n<\/p>\n

\nC. Organizational Safety Management Measures\n<\/p>\n

\nA responsible manager confirms that Personal Data is handled in accordance with the established methods, and we maintain reporting lines from employees to the responsible manager.\n<\/p>\n

\nD. Human Safety Management Measures\n<\/p>\n

\nWe provide periodic training to employees on matters to note when handling Personal Data and include confidentiality obligations regarding Personal Data in our work rules.\n<\/p>\n

\nE. Physical Safety Management Measures\n<\/p>\n

\nWe implement measures to prevent anyone other than authorized employees and the individual from easily viewing Personal Data and take measures to prevent theft or loss of equipment, electronic media, and documents that handle Personal Data. When carrying such items, including within our offices, we implement measures to prevent easy identification of Personal Data.\n<\/p>\n

\nF. Technical Safety Management Measures\n<\/p>\n

\nWe clearly define devices and employees authorized to handle Personal Data and implement measures to prevent unnecessary access. We deploy mechanisms to protect devices handling Personal Data from unauthorized access and malware.\n<\/p>\n

\nG. Understanding External Environments\n<\/p>\n

\nWhen handling Personal Data in a foreign country, we assess the systems for protecting Personal Data in that country and implement safety management measures accordingly.\n<\/p>\n

Collection and Use of Attribute, Device, Location, and Behavioral Data (including Cookies)<\/h3>\n\n\n

Cookies and Similar Technologies<\/h4>\n\n\n

\nTo protect User privacy, improve convenience, deliver advertising, and obtain statistical data, we use cookies. By using cookies and technologies such as JavaScript, we may collect non\u2011identifying attribute information (e.g., age, gender, occupation, and region of residence\u2014only when such items cannot identify an individual even in combination), device information, behavioral history within our sites (e.g., visited URLs, content, and navigation order), and, when using a smartphone or similar device, location information based on the User\u2019s consent or application. Cookies and behavioral data do not, by themselves, contain Personal Information.\n<\/p>\n

\nWe may use interest\u2011based\/behavioral advertising services to deliver appropriate advertisements to Users. To disable such services, please access the opt\u2011out pages provided by the advertising providers used on our Services and follow the instructions. Opt\u2011out page<\/a>\n<\/p>\n

Access Logs When Logged In<\/h4>\n\n\n

\nIf you use the Services while logged in, we may associate your pre\u2011login behavioral history and similar logs with your account and use them for delivering and displaying advertisements and content and for providing the Services. Data Protection and Storage<\/h3>\n\n\n

\nTo appropriately protect Users\u2019 confidential and sensitive data, we implement the following measures:\n<\/p>\n

\n1. Encryption\n<\/p>\n

\nStorage encryption: Personal Information and other highly confidential data are encrypted at rest so that, even in the event of a leak, the contents cannot be deciphered easily. Transport encryption: All data transmitted over the internet is protected using encryption technologies such as TLS.\n<\/p>\n

\n2. Access Controls\n<\/p>\n

\nAccess to confidential data is limited to personnel who require it for their work, minimizing the risk of unauthorized access and information leakage.\n<\/p>\n

\n3. Education and Training\n<\/p>\n

\nWe provide regular education and training to employees regarding information security to promote awareness and understanding in handling confidential data.\n<\/p>\n
